About The ERISA Workshop

The Speaker

Charles D. Lockwood, J.D., and L.L.M. (Taxation)
Mr. Lockwood has over 15 years experience in the employee benefits field. Mr. Lockwood presently is a principal of Global Benefit Advisors, L.L.C., a pension consulting firm. Mr. Lockwood was previously a Vice President of Pension Publications of Denver, Inc. (PPD) and a senior consultant with Coopers & Lybrand's Human Resources National Technical Services Unit in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Lockwood worked for 5 years in the Employee Plans Division in the National Office of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as a Tax Law Specialist. His responsibilities with the IRS included the review of prototype retirement plans and the training of IRS personnel. Mr. Lockwood was also the primary author of numerous IRS Revenue Rulings and Revenue Procedures, including Rev. Procs. 89-9 and 89-13 which established the current Master/Prototype and Regional Prototype Programs.

Mr. Lockwood has written numerous articles and lectured extensively on employee benefits topics.

Mr. Lockwood received his B.S. in Political Science from the University of South Florida, his J.D. from the University of Florida, and a Masters of Law in Taxation from the Georgetown University Law Center.
